This Time It's Africa

"Life is rhythm, football is rhythm and I feel the rhythm when I am in South Africa." - Sepp Batller
"We at FIFA are working very hard in South Africa with South Africa to ensure that the World Cup will happen in South Africa."- Jerome Valke

Wow. Have you ever heard someone said the word "South Africa" 3 times in a sentence?

Yes, it's been 4 years already since the last FIFA World Cup held in Germany back in 2006. When Italia won and France became the runner-up. This time, it's Africa! South Africa to be precise.

( love this video, colourful and full of energy, the song's catchy too =) and there's the beautiful Shakira )
In about 13 hours from this post, TV stations (ie. Astro) all over the world will be broadcasting the game live! It's the time when football (soccer NOT rugby) fans go crazy, cheering for their chosen country, buying the football jersey to support the country and of course, sacrifice their sleeping time for the sake of the game. People waited every four years for this event, just like the Olympics. Only that this event is focusing on one sport. FOOTBALL.

To tell you readers the truth, i haven't figure out which country to support. Since so many of the top players was injured during the warm-ups before the real day. It's not looking too good for some of the counties since their key players were one of the injured players.

Maybe i would choose France since during their warm-ups they have doing a good job, and maybe there's hope for England or maybe Italia would win for another year...maybe Brazil will add another star to their jersey. I simply can't choose, i'll just support any country along the way then =)

Tata now, don't be missing the game =D

When Dreams Get Weirder

12:57 pm by Yasmin Jamal 0 comments
"When we are dreaming alone it is only a dream. When we are dreaming with others, it is the beginning of reality." -Dom Helder Camara

Sleeping. Fun isn't it. Especially when the weather is cool and gloomy, and especially during holidays. All the tension just disappear and you wake up feeling energized or maybe still sleepy (ahahha). Sleep calls for dreams, and dreams call for reality.

Dreams, some says it's a sign, some says it's the imagination going wild and some says it's a small faction of what you see or think mixed up all together. I just agree to their theory because, yes, i always thought a dream always means a sign, and with my over flowing imagination there is no doubt that it is the imagination going wild or even the theory that dreams are made up of tiny faction of what i see or think, i can agree on that too as almost all the dreams i had involves a familiar place or person. Well, that's kind of psychology for you (it is not my topic to explain more =P )

I'm experiencing weirder dreams day by day and i don't know how to explain it. The dream i had that was the weirdest by far happen two nights ago, and the dream felt a pretty long time.

Somehow the dream took me to my school (SMY) at the main gate, everything seems normal there, only it looks like we have alot of visitors from different form 6 schools and also visitors for England judging by what i heard in my dream, was pure strong British accent. I guess our students were told via speakers to go to the lecture hall, so i followed the students up the main stairs and i saw Dr. Loji (our principal) with some other "important" people. I wanted to go up the stairs which leads to the form 5 classes, but in my dream...there was no stairs at all. It was a big elevator! But before i went in the elevator i greeted Dr. Loji, but his reply to me was shocking! He replied with "Hey gurl~ how ya doin'?" and did those finger movements my friends used to do. I can feel myself being weirded out, i asked myself, "Was that really the principal?"

I ignored it before things could get even weirder with the principal. So i went in the elevator and when it opened it showed me..what it was supposed to be the lecture hall in my dream. The lecture hall in my dream was not even close to what it looks like in reality. It was huge! It was big as the Jerudong Park Amp!  It looked like a place where an ochestra would play their melody in! There were huge crowds of stidents from different school and they all seated according to their school. When i sat down and looked around i saw two of my ex-seniors; Auji and Nazmi, sitting still with their spectecals on while writing down notes of the principal's speech (even in my dream his speeches are long and boring, can't help to wonder why ahahah). There was no words coming out from either of my ex-seniors, but there was blabbering in the background, it must have been the principal speech ahhaha.

The speech finally ended and the students were excused from the huge lecture hall. I guess i went out into a field where there were people playing rugby...not to mention, i saw my friend Zaff. Then there was a market place at the side of the field that caught my attention. I went in...and it was a kind of black market. People selling weird and creepy things. Then i saw something in a cage, something with wings of a bat and glowing red eyes...

I woke up so suddenly, it was a long dream, slept at 11pm woke up at 9am...that was long. I can still remember the dream clearly. It was an interesting dream, but also weird =P

One of my favourite things about dreams, is that i can remember them well.."weird"

Later now, Bye.

Back With The Raps

"I shouldn't have to rhyme these words in the rhythm for you to know it's a rap"

"One name, of course it's Eminem, yeah that's right. I could listen to his music til late at night. He's the best, i will simply confess. His lyrics are strong, even if the words he uses are wrong, for the children to hear, but heck don't even let them go near. He's the best rapper for me, even better, he's the best rap-per of the cen-tury. Now i'm gonna let you hear this little song, a little song that inspired me a whole month long. Hey Eminem, the mic now goes to you, let's hear you rap and show what you really can do! Hey~!"   - (to Eminem if he will ever find this or read this =D )

Not Afraid- Eminem

"I'm not afraid to take a stand
Everybody come take my hand
We'll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just let you know that, you're not alone
Holla if you feel that you've been down the same road"

I love this part of the lyrics, it really inspire me to...well..to not be afraid. There are people out there that are having the same problem as me (maybe), which means i'm not alone, not the only one in the world with a problem. Plus his rapping has been stuck in my head for a whole week. Introduced by one of my bestfriends; Mirza, i realized how much i miss Eminem's music. Now i can't get his song out of my head. Sometime i would laugh at a random time, just because a funny part of a lyric just popped in my head.

Overall, yes, Eminem's music is an inspiration to me, just in a different way. You can understand his message clearly through his music, and wow...they are based on true story. Also, if you readers have been sharp with your ears, Eminem's rapping is getting faster by the years, unbelievable, it's hard to sing-along with him =P  In my opinion, yes, Eminem is by far the best rapper i have ever known.

Blogger Out!

Blog Makeover

"Thought to give it a renovation, a new change"
So i guess you readers must have seen the change on my blog page. Yes, more earthy isn't it? Well i thought that the page needs more colour on the background. There won't be much colour in my text now, as i would like to keep things simple and only express them with words.  And i did some changes to the link, it is now http://www.yasminxjamal.blogspot.com/ , guess i got too attatched to my Twitter name.

Yes, i have a Twitter and i'm quite active in it than Facebook or Blogger. So be sure to follow me on Twitter, just click the little blue birdie on the side column and you're on your way to follow me =)

The new renovation calls for a different type on post now too. I'm figuring i should have equal side of whats going on in my life (happy ones only) and what's going on around me.

Let's say an example of what's going on in my life: Well, HOLIDAYS thankyou God! waited so long for the time.

And for what's going on around me: Well, I'm busy finding some of my picture that shows MY Brunei, as i'm participating a contest on Twitter created by BruneiTweet. Prize is a limited edition of a BruneiTweet t-shirt. I did sent 2 photos of MY Brunei, but to me..it wasn't enough. Which is why now, during this holiday, i'm preping up my camera and sharpening up my shutterbug skills.

So my post is going to be 50/50 of my life and my surrounding. And i might add up a post to show what i think of a certain topic. For example, the latest news (not really latest) the new licence plates for Brunei: A Waste.

So sort like that. So be sure to catch up, during this holiday, my spare time would be on studying and ofcourse trying to post a blog. =)

A Thousand Apologies

5:10 pm by Yasmin Jamal 0 comments
"Yes, i plead myself guilty. Case closed."

I know my dear readers, it's been a long time since my last post, MONTHS to be exact. As you see, this year is my busiest year by far. Studies were always the top priority, it still is now. Staying back in school til 5.30 pm and then there's tuition, but it's all for the sake of my future.

Speaking of future, i recently attended the May/June O'levels for the papers of English, Malay, Mathematics D, Biology, Physics and Geography. Maths for me was the toughest of all the papers. Engish was the most nerve-wrecking paper, you can't predict what was going to come out on the English paper at all. Malay, i did my best i can,  hopefuly it's ok for a credit. Geography was uterly confusing, but the paper was okay. Physics and Biology papers..well... i can say the papers were fine the way it was...it's just that the pratical... made the moods go sinking like the Titanic herself. The praticals for Biology and Physics had a lot of problems hiding under the paper. For Physics the pulleys went stubborn, and i guess i hit the careless mistake. Biology pratical was uncalled for, drawing a beetle?!? I can't even remember have that in our syllubus and i don't get it... the banana food test, it was completely different from the teacher's result but there were a number of the class got the same result as me. Hopefully it's acceptable due to flaw of the experiment.

All of them have the same thing in common, there wasn't enough time! Well, what's done is done.

That is not the end yet readers, i still have to study for the October/November O'levels, so it still means there will be less post than last year. So please dear readers, please understand what i'm going through now, for the sake of my future. But of course, when i find the time i will update. =)

Thankyou and goodbye
